The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is currently probing the alleged drug nexus of Bollywood, following the sudden demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Since then after SSR’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was arrested, Dharma Productions’ ex-staffer Kshitij Prasad was also remanded to judicial custody. Now, in his statement before the court, as per Mumbai Mirror reports, Kshitij Prasad, who was arrested by the NCB said that he was harassed and coerced by the officials to implicate actors Ranbir Kapoor, Dino Morea and Arjun Rampal.
The Dharma Productions’ ex-staffer told a special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) court that his statement to the NCB was under duress. In his court statement, Kshitij Prasad said that his statement is ‘totally involuntary and not recorded in accordance with the law’. He also shared that many parts of the statement were ‘unilaterally included by the officers’ without his consent and went on to call them false. Moving on, apart from this, Prasad also told the court yesterday that he was being harassed and coerced by NCB officials to implicate Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Dino Morea.
Kshitij Prasad who told the court last Sunday that the NCB wanted him to implicate producer-filmmaker Karan Johar and a few others, said in his court statement, “While recording my statement, the NCB has been consistently threatening and coercing me to make statements against Karan Johar and other officials of Dharma Productions and that in the event I did not, they would false implicate my wife and other family members. I have been repeatedly harassed and coerced into falsely implicating Dino Morea, Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor in the present proceedings, despite repeatedly stating that I do not know the said persons.” Prasad then added that he refuses to write false statements in his own handwriting and claimed that the complainant has been preparing various false statements according to their wishes and trying to coerce him into signing it. He continued to share that in this process, he is being mentally, emotionally and psychologically harassed into making false statements.
Meanwhile, the NCB officials denied all the allegations made by Kshitij Prasad and called them false. The deputy director general of NCB, Mutha Ashok Jain said, “The allegations made by Kshitij Prasad in court are false. We have submitted statements of the accused before the magistrate. I would not like to share any details about the statements given and the investigation.” On the other hand, in the remand application, the NCB claimed that while in custody, Prasad was ‘totally non-cooperative, adamant and arrogant, and refused to sign’ the statement that was given by him.
