Deepika Padukone Says 'You Cannot Snap Out Of Depression' As She Continues To Educate People About Mental Health

If you are following Deepika Padukone’s social media handles, one would get to know that the actress is busy educating and making people understand the aspects of depression. At one point in her life, she was also battling with depression and after the tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput who ended his life on June 14 after hanging himself in his apartment, she decided to spread awareness on the same. Owing to this, Deepika has been urging people to understand the importance of mental health and helping everyone understand that ‘Depression is an illness, like any other illness.’
Since Sushant’s untimely death which shook the entire nation, Deepika took the initiative to enlighten everyone about depression. Having said that, the Chhapaak actress has been sharing a series of posts about mental illness on her social media accounts. Just yesterday, she explained to her fans and followers that depression is not the same as sadness and is neither as same as feeling sad. Today, she tells us that ‘one cannot snap out of depression' and asked everyone to repeat after her. The caption read, “Repeat After Me. You cannot snap out of depression.”
Meanwhile, after the Chhichhore actor's tragic demise, Deepika shared a note about him which read, “As a person who has had a lived experience with mental illness, I cannot stress enough about the importance of reaching out. Talk. Communicate. Express. Seek Help. Remember, You are not alone. We are in this together. And most importantly, there is hope." She mentioned in her caption using the hashtag ‘You are not alone.’
In fact, when media portals were using ‘Sushant Singh Rajput passed away after committing suicide,’ she humbly told the media the difference, saying that the people commit a crime and they don’t commit to suicide.
