Deepika Padukone Lands In Mumbai With Ranveer Singh; To Join NCB For Investigation On September 26 In Drug Nexus Case
Deepika Padukone who was in Goa shooting for her next film has returned to Mumbai after she was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau. The actress is accompanied by hubby Ranveer Singh.
Deepika Padukone is one of those stars whose name has appeared in front of the NCB during the investigation of alleged drug nexus in Bollywood. It was after her chats with manager Karishma Prakash allegedly talking about 'maal' and 'hash' from 2017 got revealed, she came under the radar of the Narcotics Control Bureau. She has been summoned by the NCB to record her statement. For the same, the actress has returned to Mumbai from Goa.
Deepika Padukone had flown down to Goa to shoot for her upcoming film directed by Shakun Batra. The film also stars Ananya Panday and Siddhanth Chaturvedi. The shooting was supposedly brought to a halt after her name emerged in alleged drug-chats. The actress, returned to Mumbai via a charter plane as she is expected to record her statement with the NCB on September 26. Padukone was accompanied by husband Ranveer Singh. After being summoned, it was reported that Deepika consulted her team of lawyers to know the further course of action. It has been reported that the security has been beefed up outside Deepika's residence as she arrives from Goa.
Deepika was to initially be present at the NCB guesthouse on September 25 but the actress responded to the summon and stated that she will be able to join the probe only on September 26. Meanwhile, not just Deepika, Sushant Singh Rajput's Kedarnath co-star Sara Ali Khan too has come back to Mumbai and even she has been summoned by the NCB. Sara Ali Khan is expected to record her statement on September 26. Her name cropped up in the NCB probe reportedly after Rhea Chakraborty named her during the investigation. Soon a few videos of Sara and Sushant smoking cigarettes at the late actor's farmhouse went viral.
