Ddlj Gets 18-month Extension
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) has got another lease of life.

In February this year, the film, after running for 19 years and two months, was taken off from Maratha Mandir oneFriday morning without any prior intimation. That led to a public outcry, and SpotboyE.com has it that more than 200 couples and 100 DDLJ regulars had signed on a letter demanding that the film be brought back to the cinema hall and given a befitting farewell at a later date.

The letter was handed over to Maratha Mandir authorities with the hope that the film will stay on for a few more weeks if not months. Their wish has been granted- and with a bonus.

The film will not be taken off till October 2016.

Yash Raj Films (the film's producers) had a long meeting with Manoj Desai (Executive Director of Maratha Mandir), recently.

A source says, “Aditya was quite touched by the manner in which the public reacted to the film in February. He told Desai that he should run the film for another year-and-half."

When contacted, Desai confirmed the news.
