David Dhawan Turns 70: Varun Dhawan Wishes His Father With A Video Of His Journey Through These Years
Varun Dhawan’s Instagram post, wishing his father David Dhawan on his birthday, takes us back in time
Ace filmmaker David Dhawan turns 70 today and on this occasion, his son and actor Varun Dhawan wished his father, by sharing a video. The few-minutes long clip is enough to get you nostalgic as it takes you through the journey of the filmmaker - right from when he came to Mumbai and till he carved a niche for himself in the industry. The video has scenes from some of his iconic movies - Hero No 1, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Partner, Judwaa 2, Main Tera Hero, Coolie No 1 and more.
The video has a voiceover narrating the story of the celebrated filmmaker who set his foot in the industry 43 years ago. The voiceover describes him as a person with a cinematic vision, alumni from FTII and a gold medallist. It mentions how the director started off as a video editor with the movie, Ladlee. The director marked his directorial debut with the movie, Taaqatwar in 1989. And then there was no looking back for the director.
David Dhawan has so far edited 33 films and directed 45 movies in his career. The video calls him the King Of Comedy. Varun Dhawan wrote in his Instagram post, “HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY DAD FTI Gold medalist Director of 45 motion pictures Editor of 33 films The king of comedy #fanlove”
