Dangal Director Nitesh Tiwari Denied Entry Into Dadasaheb Phalke Awards
He helmed the biggest hit of 2016 but Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari was stopped by security as he made his way into the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Awards with his wife
Nitesh Tiwari is one of the most sought after names in
Bollywood these days. Why wouldn’t he be, after all he helmed the
highest-grossing Bollywood film ever, the Aamir Khan starrer Dangal.
But the famous filmmaker was treated with utmost
disrespect when he turned up at the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Awards
with his wife this weekend.
Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Awards 2017 took place this
Sunday i.e. on May 07, 2017. But Nitesh Tiwari was almost pushed away from
the event by rude bouncers.
Yes, you heard it right!
An eyewitness present at the event told SpotboyE.com
about the horrifying incident. It, so happened that the Dangal director was not
carrying the invite and he was stopped at the gate by the bouncers who refused
to let him in.
“To be honest, a guy in his position does not need
to carry an invite! When Nitesh failed to show the invite, the bouncers made
him and his wife stand outside for a good 15 minutes. But then one of the
organisers spotted the director and let them in,” said the eyewitness.
We contacted the Dangal director and he confirmed that he
was indeed turned away from the gate by bouncers.
“The news is true. Unfortunately, I had forgotten
to carry my invite that day. I kind of didn’t expect that I would need to carry
an invite. The bouncers had stopped us for a while, but later on, a person from
the team came and helped us out,” said Nitesh Tiwari.
