Coronavirus Outbreak: Akshay Kumar Does His Bit; Donates Rs 25 Crore To Narendra Modi’s PM-Cares Fund
Recently, Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle and shared about his donation to Narendra Modi’s PM-CARES Fund after Prime Minister urged people to donate in order to strengthen disaster management amidst the Coronavirus outbreak
Coronavirus is affecting one and all. The situation has gone from bad to worse as the pandemic has posed serious challenges for the health and economic security of millions of people worldwide. Along with other countries, the number of people who are testing positive of COVID-19 in India is also increasing minute by minute. With severe health and economic ramifications for our country, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has started a new initiative called, PM-CARES Fund. This fund is for the people who are willing to donate for the affected people and for the betterment of the citizens.
Recently, Narendra Modi shared a tweet urging people to donate during this crisis time. His tweet read, “The PM-CARES Fund accepts micro-donations too. It will strengthen disaster management capacities and encourage research on protecting citizens. Let us leave no stone unturned to make India healthier and more prosperous for our future generations.” He shared the tweet along with bank details and the procedure on how one can make a payment.
Seeing this tweet, Akshay Kumar quickly quoted his tweet and pledged to donate a whopping amount of Rs 25 crore to Modi’s PM-CARES Fund. While sharing the tweet, Akki also says, ‘we need to do anything and everything it takes’
His tweet read, “This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodi ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai.” After making this tweet, Modi too responded him by saying. “Great gesture @akshaykumar. Let’s keep donating for a healthier India.”
