The Coronavirus outbreak has claimed several lives across the world and has only been increasing with each passing day. In India, the need for a complete lockdown has also affected our Hindi film industry. Several movies’ release dates have been pushed ahead and several others’ shooting schedules have come to a halt.

Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn was set to release on March 27, but owing to the Coronavirus outbreak, the makers were forced to postpone the release date and as of now, the new release date is yet to be announced.

Kabir Khan’s sports biopic that recreates the iconic 1983 Cricket World Cup win of India starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role was all set to hit the big screens on April 10, but unfortunately, the film’s release date stands delayed.
 
Gulabo Sitabo

Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in lead roles was slated to release on April 17. Naturally, with the March releases being pushed ahead and no signs of the Coronavirus settling down anytime soon, this one also has to bear the consequences.
 
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl


Dharma Productions upcoming offering Gunjan Saxena that stars Janhvi Kapoor in the lead was scheduled to release on April 24. However, due to the tense situation, the film’s release date also possibly stands delayed. The makers are yet to announce though.

David Dhawan’s remake of the cult classic Coolie No 1 that stars Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in main roles will also have to bear the brunt as the films are getting pushed ahead, owing to COVID-19.

While the shooting of Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer Laxmmi Bomb wrapped up only recently, and the makers were looking for a May 22 release, there are very less possibilities of that happening considering the current situation in the country.

Yesterday, we brought you an inside update from trade expert Taran Adarsh who stated that cinema halls in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji would be shut until May 23 and that is definitely could to have an adverse effect on Indian films as well. So one more BIG release, Salman Khan starrer Radhe that was aiming for a May 22 release, will also have to reconsider its release date.
