Coldplay In India: Shah Rukh Khan Welcomes AR Rahman On Stage

By the time Shah Rukh walked on stage at the MMRDA grounds where the Global Citizen India is taking place, a  slew of Bollywod stars had already spoken to the audience.

But SRK was greeted with the loudest applause and when the superstar announced that he is here to introduce AR Rahman, the cheers were thunderous.

Shah Rukh welcomed the Oscar winner by making the audience sing-along with him to Rahman hits like Chhaiya Chhaiya and Dil Se Re.



Shah Rukh signed off by urging the 70,000-strong crowd to take social actions, while AR Rahman added, “Poverty is out common enemy.”



AR Rahman then performed acoustic versions of his hits and then got the crowds dancing with the rendition of Humma Humma in Tamil.



The event of the year began at the MMRDA grounds with Bollywood stars Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra taking to the stage to introduce the goals of Global Citizen, the international charity which has bought Coldplay and rap megastar Jay-Z to India.
