Coldplay In India: Farhan Rocks Out, Shraddha Cheers Him On
Farhan Akhtar performed solo and then teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan for a second stint on stage much to the delight of rumoured ladylove Shraddha Kapoor
Coldplay
frontman Chris Martin had spent last night partying with Farhan Akhtar and his
Rock On 2 co-star Shraddha Kapoor at the actor-singer's housewarming party. (Coldplay In India: Will Chris Martin Be Hungover At The Concert After A Night of Partying?, Nov 19)
And now the duo
are front and centre at the Global Citizen India concert headlined by Coldplay
and Jay-Z. And this time they are not hiding their affection for each other.
After Amitabh
Bachchan's performance with the Shillong Chamber Choir,it was Farhan
Akhtar's turn to take to the mic in front of the 70,000 strong crowd.
The singer-actor
performed hits from his hit musical Rock On and then sang a track from Wazir
with Amitabh Bachchan.
Shraddha, who
was one of the opening star acts of the show was spotted cheering Farhan on
from the backstage area.
The event of the
year began at the MMRDA grounds with Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti
Chopra taking to the stage to introduce the goals of Global Citizen, the
international charity which has bought the international acts to India.
The concert
started with a ballad sung by composer trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy who were
accompanied by the
multi-genre, Dadar-based choir `The Salvation Singers', conducted by Dylan
D'Souza.
The
day-long party of sorts will also include Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
who is expected to send a message through video conference.
Stars including
Vidya Balan, Vivek Oberoi, Sonam Kapoor and Karan Johar have addressed the
crowd, urging them on to do their part for the country.
Other
acts who are expected to take the stage include Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan,
Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor who will speak in support of the "Shuruaat
Hoon Main" message.
