Choti Si Baat, Rajnigandha Director Basu Chatterjee Passes Away At The Age Of 93
Today, legendary filmmaker Basu Chatterjee who gave us some classics like Chhoti Si Baat, Chitchor, Rajnigandha, has passed away at the age of 93 due age-related illness
Much to everyone’s dismay, legendary filmmaker Basu Chatterjee who has given us some classics in the 1970s has passed away on Thursday (4 June) in Mumbai. He was 93 and was suffering from age-related illness. The filmmaker have delivered some memorable classic films like Us Paar, Chhoti Si Baat (1975), Chitchor (1976), Rajnigandha (1974), Piya Ka Ghar (1972), Khatta Meetha , Chakravyuha (1978), Baton Baton Mein (1979), Priyatama (1977), Man Pasand, Hamari Bahu Alka, Shaukeen (1982), Chameli Ki Shaadi and many more.
Just recently Indian Film & TV Directors’ Association president Ashoke Pandit shared the news on his Twitter handle and also mentioned that his rites will be performed today at Santacruz cremation at 2 pm while saying that is a great loss. His tweet read, “I am extremely grieved to inform you all the demise of Legendary Filmmaker Basu Chatterjee ji . His last rites will be performed today at Santacruz creamation at 2 pm. It’s a great loss to the industry. Will miss you Sir. #RIPBasuChaterjee.”
Unfortunately, this year, we saw some legendary actors from Bollywood left us for heavenly abode, the veteran star Irrfan Khan passed away after battling with cancer on April 29, leaving everyone in complete shock. As we coming in terms with his demise, Bollywood woke up with the news of legendary actor Rishi Kapoor passing away on April 30 after succumbing to cancer. Today, we yet again saw a legendary filmmaker’s death and it is indeed a great loss to the industry.
