Chhapaak: After Rangoli Chandel, English Acid Attack Survivor Katie Piper Showers Praise On Deepika Padukone
English activist and acid attack survivor Katie Piper has taken to social media to shower praise on the trailer in a long touching note. In her tweet tagging the actress and filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, Katie wrote, “Watching this trailer took my breath away. I had to watch 3/4 times for it all to sink in.”
Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak’s trailer has been applauded by one and all. The trailer, which was dropped by a few days back, is being widely appreciated not only by the actress’ industry friends but also by the acid attack survivor across the world. When the trailer was dropped, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli, who’s herself an acid Attack survivor heaps praises on the trailer and now it’s English activist and acid attack survivor Katie Piper has taken to social media to shower praises on the trailer in a long note.
In her tweet tagging the actors and the filmmaker Meghna Gulzar and Katie wrote in her long note, “Chhapaax @deepikapadukone new movie Watching this trailer took my breath away. I had to watch 3/4 times for it all to sink in. This film explores what it really means to survive an acid attack in Indian. Based on true events the film follow Maltis traumatic medical journey and her fight for justice in a legal battle against her attacker a man who couldn’t cope with her rejecting his advances. Maltis face is permanently scarred but not her spirit, that is unbreakable. Deepika Padukone was quick enough to reply to her post. Re-Tweeting she wrote, “Thank You so much for your shout out Katie and I look forward to meeting you sometime soon.”
Reportedly, just like Lakshmi, Katie too attacked with acid by her ex-boyfriend in 2008 following which she suffered major damage to her face and even blindness in one eye. The attackers are currently serving life sentences.
