Born on November 1, 1944, in Maharashtra’s Sangli district, Murlikant Petkar had a notable journey. He served in the Indian Army as a craftsman in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME). His early passion was boxing, and he aspired to make a career in the sport. However, an incident during a boxing competition, where he injured the village head's son, led to a controversy that forced him to leave his village.
Following this incident, Murlikant joined the Indian Army's Boys Battalion in Pune, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. Kabir Khan's film not only highlights the struggles and triumphs of Murlikant Petkar but also brings his lesser-known story to the forefront, inspiring many.
