Cancer Survivor Tahira Kashyap Recites A Powerful Poem On World Cancer Day: ‘Some Scars Are Seen, While Some Are Hidden’- VIDEO
Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap has been quite vocal about her battle with breast cancer and also works towards spreading awareness about the same. Tahira Kashyap is a breast cancer survivor, and she was diagnosed with the disease in 2018. Post her recovery, Tahira opened up about her struggle with cancer and also documented the journey of her battle with the disease. Today, on World Cancer Day, Tahira shared a powerful poem on the battle with cancer, and encouraged cancer patients and survivors to embrace their scars.

Tahira Kashyap took to her Instagram and shared a video of herself reciting the inspirational poem written by her. She spoke about there being more to the scars than a reminder of the moments of suffering, and that the scar talks about the fight and the resilience and the invincible power of those who had to suffer the disease. She further urged cancer patients and survivors to not hide the scars, but instead flaunt them. She also urged people to spread awareness about early breast cancer detection.

Sharing the poem, Tahira wrote, “World Cancer Day This is something I had experienced and written about and still mean every word of it! Joining this year’s theme of I AM AND I WILL , I urge you all to take notice of this day, to spread awareness about early breast cancer detection, to remove any stigma associated with it and to celebrate life along with it’s many scars.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Tahira Kashyap joined hands with producer Ekta Kapoor, filmmaker Guneet Monga to lay the foundation of Indian Women Rising, a platform to support and empower Indian female talent in cinema. Read more about it here.
