BUZZ: Aamir Khan’s Dangal Set To Release In Pakistan
The escalating tension between India and Pakistan had hit Bollywood hard.

Rewind. Our film industry associations decided to ban Pakistani artistes from working in Indian films and the Pakistani film exhibitors had decided that they will boycott Indian films.

But now, according to reports, Pakistani film exhibitors are likely to end the ban on the screening of Indian films that was put in place amid escalating tensions between the two countries following the Uri terror attack in September this year.

A report in PTI has quoted Zoraish Lashari, Chairman of the Film Exhibitors Association of Pakistan, saying that Indian films will be back in Pakistan theatres from December 19.

This means that some of the most awaited films of the season including Aamir Khan’s Dangal might be screened in Pakistan.

Pakistan is considered the third biggest market for Indian films and according to the report, after the ban on Indian films, the theatres in Pakistan were empty despite screenings of Hollywood movies.

The report also quoted a source, who revealed: "Plus in recent weeks several Indian films have been released while everyone is eagerly anticipating the release of Aamir Khan's Dangal," a source said.

One source, however, said that some cinema owners were still apprehensive of a backlash from religious parities or groups once they resumed screening of Indian films and have asked for protection if required.

"A private media group is presently trying to import and release "Dangal" in Pakistan," the source added
