Brahmastra Trailer: Ayan Mukerji CLARIFIES Why Ranbir Kapoor Wore Shoes In The Temple Scene; ‘Film Pays Respect To Indian Culture, Traditions’
Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus ‘Brahmastra’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most- highly awaited films of this year. A few days ago, its trailer was released and in one scene Ranbir wore shoes inside a temple. This scene offended a certain section of people. Now, Ayan has issued a clarification on this scene and informed that the actor did not enter a temple, it was Durga Puja Pandal. The filmmaker explained that in his experience, shoes are taken off right on the stage where the Goddess is, and not when one enters the Pandal.

On Sunday, Ayan shared the poster of the film on his Instagram handle and wrote, “We had some people in our community, upset because of one shot in our Trailer - Ranbir’s character wearing shoes as he rings a Bell. As the Creator of this film (and a devotee), I wanted to humbly address what happened here. In our movie, Ranbir is not entering a temple, but a Durga Puja Pandal.” He added, “My own family has been organising a similar kind of Durga Puja Celebration for… 75 years! One, which I have been a part of since my childhood. In my experience, we only take off our shoes, right on the stage where the Goddess is, and not when you enter the Pandal.” ALSO READ: Brahmastra TRAILER OUT: Can You Spot Shah Rukh Khan?
