Boney Kapoor Gets Emotional Seeing The Sridevi Car

This morning around 11:30am, Sridevi’s ardent fan, Tonu Sojatia, a Pune based photographer, finally did something that she had set her heart on.

On Friday evening, we told you that Tonu, who has images of Sridevi plastered all over her car, was driving down from Mumbai to Pune, hoping to meet her idol’s husband.

"I am yearning to meet and showcase our Sridevi tribute to Mr Boney and his family. I have requested him to give me some time soon. Ideally, I would like to visit Mumbai this Sunday," she had said.

And like they say, when you wish for something from the bottom of your heart, the universe conspires to make it possible. And it’s exactly what happened to this Pune resident.

Boney himself called Tonu expressing his willingness to meet his late wife’s ardent fan. Boney and his close aid Mr Choksey, welcomed Tonu and her friends at his office. He had a long chat with them, replete with emotional outbursts. Boney was extremely touched with the gesture and shared memories of his beloved late wife with them.

He choked up while showing the girls around his office. Later they all sat down for coffee.

The girls also had a parting gift for Mr Kapoor - an image of their screen idol, Sridevi, from Solva Saawan (1979).

Boney even stepped down from his office to see the car. Naturally, he was overwhelmed to see what Tonu had done with it. He had many questions, and the girls too had lots that they wanted to tell him.

So what’s next for Sridevi’s fan, and what becomes of the wonderful car? “Abhi mann nahi hai car nikaalne ka (I don’t wish to part with the car). I’m from Indore, my parents and in-laws stay there, I would love to drive down to my hometown in the car and proudly show it around."

We bet, this is one Sunday the girls will never forget!
