Bombay HC Asks Maharashtra Government To Examine The Roles Of Sonu Sood And Zeeshan Siddique In Procuring Remdesivir
Sonu Sood has been leaving no stone unturned to help the needy during this difficult time. The actor is creating a huge buzz every day for multiple reasons. On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court ordered the Maharashtra government to investigate the role of Congress MLA Zeeshan Siddique and actor Sonu Sood in connection with the delivery of the drug for COVID.

The High Court noted that 'these people (celebs) projected themselves as some kind of Messiah, without verifying if the drugs were spurious or if the supply was legal. In this case, we ask the state govt to scrutinise their actions.' It further added, 'Since both were dealing directly with the public, was it possible for the public to ascertain the quality or source of these drugs?'

Earlier State Advocate General Ashutosh Kumbhakoni said it was found that Siddique was helping people with the help of a charitable trust named BDR Foundation. The trust did not have permission to supply the drugs. The Maharashtra government said that a criminal case has been filed at the Mazgaon Magistrate's Court against the trust and its trustees for supplying anti-COVID drug Remdesivir to Congress MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui.

With regards to actor Sonu Sood, he said that the actor received the drugs from several pharmacies inside the private Lifeline Care Hospital in Goregaon. Pharma companies had supplied Remdesivir to these pharmacies and inquiry is still going on.
