Bhoot– Part One, The Haunted Ship Poster: Vicky Kaushal Is Here To Spook You Out!

After ruling the mainstream Bollywood with comedy, romantic, action pack and suspense thrillers, Dharma production is set to venture into new space. On Friday, Karan Johar announced that Dharma production is backing a “new franchise of fear”. Yes, KJo is set to start a horror franchise, Bhoot. This morning, the makers unveiled the first look poster of their first instalment, Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship which stars the Uri actor Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar. The horror flick is helmed by debutant Bhanu Pratap Singh.

Sharing the poster Vicky Kaushal wrote, “Nothing haunts you more than reality. Presenting #Bhoot Part One - The Haunted Ship, directed by @Bps_91. In cinemas 15th November, 2019. @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @shashankkhaitan @DharmaMovies”

While Bhumi captioned it, “Sinking my teeth into this special role in this very special film as my friend and brother @bhanu.singh.91 marks his debut with #Bhoot Part One - The Haunted Ship. In cinemas 15th November, 2019. Extremely excited for this one guys @dharmamovies @karanjohar @shashankkhaitan @apoorva1972 and the man @vickykaushal09”

To talk about the poster, a bruised Vicky can be screaming for help as he is getting strangled by a ghost.

You may recall, Ram Gopal Verma had made two horror films with the same title, Bhoot in 2000s. It is reported that KJo reached out to RGV, and requesting him for the title for his new franchise. Thanking his generosity, KJo, told BT, “I made an unreasonable request to Ramu, asking him for his franchise title BHOOT and he graciously and magnanimously agreed to give it to us without even blinking an eyelid. All of us at Dharma are blown away by his generosity and are eternally grateful to him. We aspire to make sure the title is in the right hands of horror.”

Bhoot franchise marks Badrinath Ki Dulhania director, Shashank Khiatan’s debut production. Sharing his excitement, he told DNA, "Karan [Johar] loved it. Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship is based on a true incident that took place in Bombay. The shooting is complete. The post-production is underway and the film will open in cinemas on November 15 this year." "The intent is to create a series. We’re looking at making more authentic films, even horror comedies. Bhanu and I have discussed a few ideas. It’s an exciting time to take the franchise ahead," he added.
