Talking about the book launch, which was held on Jan 8, 2019, it was attended by Manisha’s close friends and colleagues like Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Rekha, Bhagyashree, Mahesh Bhatt and Gulshan Grover among others. The 48-year-old actress had shared photos from the event on Twitter and had also thanked the celebs for attending her book launch event.
At Manisha Koirala’s book launch I remembered a heroic gesture of my brother @RajuKher1 (cancer survivor) just before his surgery & how @mkoirala is looks more beautiful now. Because ‘LIFE’ has happened to her. Her book #Healed is about Courage & the Spirit of Survival.🙏 #BuyIt pic.twitter.com/gWN2gjNtLT

Manisha was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2012 and was declared cancer-free by mid-2014 after an extensive treatment. She took a break from acting in 2012 and returned five years later with Dear Maya, Netflix’s Lust Stories and Sanju.
While talking about what inspired her to pen her journey, Manisha, a few days back, at the Jaipur Literature Festival said, “When I was ill, I wanted to hear positive stories of people who have fought this battle successfully. But sadly there weren’t many reported stories out there. But I sought inspiration from Yuvraj Singh and Lisa Ray’s cases. This became my reason for penning the book down,” said Manisha. We’re sure her book will be a big source of strength to all those fighting the deadly C.
