BCCI Gives A Nod To Dhonis Biopic

This photo tweeted by the official handle @MSDTheFilm of Dhoni and Sushant speaks volumes.

On Thursday, Sakshi Dhoni not only tweeted a poster of the film M.S. Dhoni The Untold Story, but also posted a message: “Clearing out all those rumours being carried out past few days. It was all false... Here you go... BOOM!”

Director Neeraj Pandey’s M.S. Dhoni will be on floors in the next two months and is aiming for a 2015 release. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput is already prepping up while the producer, Rhiti Sports sister concern Inspired Entertainment, is scouting heroines to play Sakshi, the Indian skippers wife.

If recent reports are anything to go by, Mahendra Singh Dhonis life story on celluloid was initially denied permission by crickets apex body in India, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), which objected to the film since the 33-year-old still holds office and is in circulation as a player.

Apparently, the bodys mandate also disallows players from divulging details of their lives in the form of an autobiography. A player is, supposedly, allowed to put his life into a book only two years after his formal retirement. Bring this up, and Rajiv Shukla from the BCCI says, What does BCCI have to do with this biopic of Mahendra Singh Dhoni? As long as he doesn't act in it, we have no objections. Its clear from our end.

However, the official refused to make any comments on how the player, who reportedly holds a 15 per cent stake in the company producing his biopic, was granted permission to make the movie. All Shukla says is, If they have the permission from Dhoni and some other actor is playing his part in it, we have no issues with this film.

The news of a biopic being made first surfaced earlier this year, with sources claiming it'll cover Dhoni's journey as a domestic cricketer from Ranchi to a successful captain of the Indian squad who lead the team into its second World Cup victory.
