Bailable Warrant Issued Against Kangana Ranaut After She Fails To Appear Before Court In Javed Akhtar Defamation Case

A magistrate court issued a bailable warrant against Kangana Ranaut in a defamation case filed against her by Javed Akhtar. The warrant was issued after she failed to appear before it despite being summoned.

Bailable Warrant Issued Against Kangana Ranaut After She Fails To Appear Before Court In Javed Akhtar Defamation Case
Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar had filed a criminal complaint against Kangana in November last year for allegedly making defamatory and baseless comments against him in her interviews. Javed Akhtar reportedly said that in her interviews after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Kangana brought up his name while speaking about a ‘coterie’ in Bollywood. Now, as per the latest update in this case, the Andheri metropolitan magistrate court has issued a bailable warrant against Kangana.

According to PTI, this bailable warrant was issued against Kangana Ranaut on Monday after she failed to appear before the court during the hearing on the criminal complaint against her. As per the report in PTI, the Andheri metropolitan magistrate’s court had issued a summon to Kangana on February 1, to appear in Court on March 1. However, Kangana did not turn up, after which the court issued a bailable warrant against her.

Further, the court has posted the matter for hearing on March 22. In the complaint that was filed by Javed Akhtar against Kangana, the lyricist had claimed that the ‘baseless comments’ made by the actress had damaged his reputation.  


Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana Ranaut will next be seen in Thalaivi, a biopic on late politician J Jayalalithaa. She will also be seen playing the role of Agent Agni in her upcoming film Dhaakad. Kangana has also started working on Tejas next. Just yesterday, she hosted a Sunday feast for her Tejas team.
