Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released in theatres on Thursday, and given the hype around the film’s exorbitant budget, its opening day collections can best be described as mediocre. A user wrote, "#BadeMiyanChoteMiyan is an out and out action flick with loads of dialogue baazi, propaganda, hate-mongering elements and shallow writing. It's a rehash of Hobs and Shaw with desi twists. In comparison to Original Bade Miyan Chote Miyan it's not entertaining at all." Another one wrote, "The film BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN can get described as a series of action sequences." Another social media user tweeted, The film is UNBEARABLE with few Action Blocks. Whole cast performance was so bad and cringe. Prithviraj wasted as Villian. Songs were bad,BGM too good and Few Action Blocks were Good but couldn't Impress much." Speaking about its box office business, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, commenced its box office journey with a respectable Rs 15.5 crore nett across all languages in India. While this places it as the second-largest opening of the year following Hrithik Roshan's Fighter, which earned Rs 24.6 crore on its first day, the figure pales in comparison to the record-breaking hits seen in Hindi cinema in 2023. The largest opener of the year, Jawan, started with Rs 75 crore. Even the tenth-biggest opener of the year, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, surpassed Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in terms of first-day earnings.
