SS Rajamouli has become a name to reckon with after the unprecedented success of both the Baahubali films. He is all set to begin work on his next film and the director seems to be steering clear of the fantasy genre.

Buzz is, Rajamouli’s next will star Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and he will be seen with Sridevi in the film.

The film will reportedly be set in the current times and deal with real life struggles and situations.

For those who don't know, Mohanlal was in talks to be a part of the Mahabharata movie which Rajamouli plans to direct.

The makers of Baahubali had approached Sridevi for the role of Rajmata Shivagami, which was later played by Ramya Krishnan to much critical acclaim.

Rajamouli had insinuated that Sridevi, 53, made starry demands, a claim which was denied by the actress.

In an interview, Rajamouli said that he regretted speaking about Sridevi in a negative way.

"I shouldn't have discussed the details on a public platform. That's a mistake. And I regret it. I have huge respect for Sridevi ji as a flag-bearer of the southern film industries in Mumbai for many years,” the filmmaker had said in an interview

Sridevi made her comeback to acting with MOM which released last month to positive reviews.

Sridevi and Mohanlal have never worked together before. Let's wait and watch whether Rajamouli is indeed able to being the two South Indian powerhouses, Mohanlal and Sridevi, together this time.
