This morning, 16 migrant workers walking to reach their homes in Madhya Pradesh were run over by a goods train in Aurangabad. The tragic accident reportedly occurred at around 5:30 am in the morning on the Aurangabad-Jalna railway line. According to PTI, the labourers had been walking along the railway tracks and after being exhausted, they fell asleep. They were crushed to death on the railway tracks by a goods train. Now, Bollywood celebrities Richa Chadha, Nimrat Kaur, Rahul Dev among others are deeply saddened to hear the heartbreaking news.

Nimrat Kaur tweeted, “Prayers for the deceased migrant labourers who’ve lost their lives in the tragic train mishap in Aurangabad. Wishing all these horrendous atrocities away... #Aurangabad,” while Richa Chadha wrote, “To wake up to such news... heart hurts! How can we be so cruel to those because of whom we flourish ? #WeNeedaRevolution.”  Film producer Tanuj Garg tweeted, “Migrant labourers crushed to death on railway tracks. This should shake our national conscience, but will, sadly, be forgotten tomorrow. This happened because there were inadequate arrangements for migrants to go home and because their travel was not free.”
