Atrangi Re To Have Double Dose Of Love; Akshay Kumar And Dhanush To Romance Sara Ali Khan But There’s A Catch
According to the latest reports, Akshay Kumar and Dhanush will romance Sara Ali Khan in the cross-cultural love story, Atrangi Re but in different eras
Ever since Aanand L. Rai announced his next project Atrangi Re with Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Dhanush starring in one, it got everyone pumped. Just like the name of the film, Rai also pulled out an ‘Atrangi’ casting coup for this film and well with three powerhouse talent in one film, one can surely expect a lot of fireworks. The film, which has been titled Atrangi Re will have Akshay Kumar in a very special character and the audience will really like it. The film is said to be a cross-cultural love story but now we have heard that Aanand’s directorial will have a double dose of romance.
As per reports in Mumbai Mirror, Sara’s character will be from Bihar who will be seen romancing Dhanush who hails from South. While many were speculating if Akki will have a cameo in this film, to which Rai said that he will be playing a very special character which is important to the narrative. However, the reports further suggested that both Akshay and Dhanush will be seen romancing Sara but it will not be a love triangle, in fact, in different eras.
A source close to the development revealed to the portal by saying, “While Atrangi Re is primarily a love story set in the heartland, aced with humour, the storytelling is in a zone the filmmaker has not attempted before. The screenplay follows a non-linear narrative of two romances from different timelines running in the parallel.”
“It’s a double role of sorts for Sara, the idea is to showcase diverse sides of the actress. Akshay and Dhanush’s characters too have a special trait that separates them from rest of the cast. Their appearances will be in sync with the way they act and react while a special look is being designed for Akshay,” the source further added.
Atrangi Re goes on the floors next month in Bihar, followed by another stint in Madurai, thereby offering a glimpse of two cultures. The film is written by Aanand’s frequent collaborator, Himanshu Sharma and is about how love is perceived in two regions of India – North and South.
Meanwhile, the film kicks off with Dhanush and Sara in March while Akshay will join the team by mid-April. The film is expected to be shot in a span of 80- 90 days and will gear up for Valentine's day release in 2021.
