The year 2020 has been a nightmare for Bollywood. The industry lost some of its finest gems like Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Saroj Khan, Wajid Khan and more. Adding to the list, another Bollywood actor has left for his heavenly abode. In a shocking turn of events, the latest reports suggest that actor Asif Basra is no more. He is said to have died by suicide in Dharmshala, Himachal Pradesh. As per a News18 report, the actor died by suicide in a rented apartment in McLeod Ganj.

Asif Basra who started off as a theatre actor became a part of many critically acclaimed films such as Black Friday and Parzania. He essayed the role of Shanawaz Qureshi in Black Friday that earned him many accolades. Asif then played several characters in many hit Bollywood films. He was a part of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor's Jab We Met. He played the role of a station vendor in this film. He also had a pivotal role to play in Sanjay Dutt's much-acclaimed film Lamhaa.

In Sushant Singh Rajput's debut film Kai Po Che, Asif Basra was seen as Digvijay Deshmukh's father. In 2013, Asif Basra came onboard Hrithik Roshan's superhero film Krrish 3 and was seen as Dr Alok Sen. Another hit film that had Asif Basra playing a pivotal role was Shraddha Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh and Sidharth Malhotra's Ek Villain. In 2018, Asif Basra was seen in Rani Mukerji's film Hichki. He indeed appeared in many films and enthralled all by his flawless performance.
