Filmmaker-producer Ashoke Pandit has acquired the rights to make a film on athlete Pinki Pramanik. Pandit took to his Twitter handle to make the announcement. The sports biopic will be produced under the banner ‘Ashoke Pandit Productions’
Bollywood has treated its audience with some interesting and motivating films. Over the years, sports biopics like ‘Dangal’, ‘Mary Kom’, recently released film ‘Saina’ have managed to get praised by the audience. The heart-toughing story of the struggles of the athletes won the hearts of many in the past. Now, filmmaker-producer Ashoke Pandit has acquired the rights to make a film on athlete Pinki Pramanik. Pandit took to his Twitter handle to make the announcement. The sports biopic will be produced under the banner ‘Ashoke Pandit Productions’
Pinki Pramanik- a track and field athlete has won several gold and silver medals for India in coveted International Championships. Taking to his Twitter, Ashoke Pandit made the announcement. He tweeted, “A proud moment for #AshokePanditProductions This will be a tribute to all the athletes. #AshokePandit #PinkyPramanik” He informed fans and followers about the biopic on Pinki Pramanik. He mentioned that the sports biopic will be a tribute to all the athletes. Pandit also thanked his fans for supporting his new project in another tweet. He wrote, “Thank you for your love & support. We are trending #AshokePandit #PinkyPramanik”

For the unversed, Pink Pramanik was accused of being a man. She was implicated in rape charges and was held prisoner in a men’s prison, along with 1000 male inmates. Talking about the film, in the announcement, Pandit did not announce the title of the sports biopic. However, the story is written by Priyanka Ghatak. The makers did not reveal the lead cast as well, but there will be an announcement soon, as per a report in ETimes.
