Renowned Bollywood actor Ashish Vidyarthi attracted significant attention when he surprised many by entering into his second marriage at the age of 60. In May 2023, he tied the knot with Rupali Barua in an intimate ceremony held in Kolkata. Since then, the couple has unfortunately been subjected to social media trolling due to their union. In a recent interview with Behindwoods TV, Ashish and Rupali discussed the online trolls and the barrage of negative comments they've had to contend with. Speaking about all the social media trolling Rupali said "I did not give a damn to it because those people I don’t know. They have seen something that is very un-obvious, for normal people. Because they don’t know about it. It didn’t affect me so much because I didn’t read the comments so much. My close ones are supporting me, I don’t need any other validation." Ashish who was previously wedded to Rajoshi Vidyarthi, also shared that he and Rupali have no need to prove themselves to anyone. The 60-year-old said "Two things with love and affection- you don’t need to prove a point. We both were not out there to prove any point. No upset, no anger, but do something that makes you happy." During the same interview, Rupali expressed that finding a life partner at this stage in life is a true blessing and added: “Being given this opportunity by the universe is a big thing. Any other thing is small. I know what I have been missing. To find a companion at this age is a blessing. That blessing is so big that everything else, the negativity is blurred."

On May 25, 2023, Ashish and Rupali Barua celebrated their registered marriage. During their special occasion, the affectionate couple appeared charming in understated wedding attire. Rupali radiated beauty in a lovely cream-coloured mekhela chador, a traditional Assamese saree. While Ashish exuded elegance in a coordinating golden kurta paired with a dhoti and gamcha.
