Arshad Warsi Gets SLAMMED After Calling Prabhas’ Role In Kalki 2898 AD ‘Joker’; Director Ajay Bhupathi Says, ‘Can See Jealousy In Your Eyes Just Because You've Faded Out’
Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi gained recognition in the Hindi entertainment industry for his comic timing with his portrayal of Circuit in Sanjay Dutt starrer Munnabhai MBBS. He never shies away from expressing his views on the films made in Bollywood. During a recent interaction, he openly critiqued Kalki 2898 AD and shared that he didn’t like the film. While he heaped praises on Amitabh Bachchan’s portrayal of Ashwatthama, he felt like Prabhas’ character looked like a ‘Joker’ in the film.

Arshad’s view on Prabhas’ character Bhairava left the netizens divided. Director Ajay Bhupathi too joined the bandwagon and harshly reacted to a viral video of the actor calling Prabhas’ character a joker. Taking to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, the director slammed him and wrote. “#Prabhas is the man who has given everything & will do anything to take Indian Cinema to the world audience, a Pride of our nation. We can see the jealousy on that film, on him in your eyes just because you've faded out & no one gives an eye to you. There's a limit & a way to express our opinion... Seems like you're the one that you've said about him.”

For those who don’t know, during an interview with Samdish Bhatia for his podcast, the Jolly LLB actor said, “Prabhas, I am really sad. Why was he? He was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata.”

For those who don’t know, Kalki 2898 AD is set in a dystopian era, 6000 years after the Kurukshetra war in Mahabharat, where a 200-year-old demon named Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan) rules the world with his ‘complex’ setup in Kashi. The film follows the journey of Ashwatthama's (Amitabh Bachchan) plight to protect Maa (Deepika Padukone), who is about to give birth to God, who will save the world from further doom. Prabhas plays the role of a carefree bounty hunter who dreams of entering the complex and leading his best life. The film is directed by Nag Ashwin and has cameo appearances from Disha Patani, Mrunal Thakur, Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salmaan.
