Armaan Kohli Arrested In Drug Case: ‘Actor Is Languishing In Jail, His Bail Order Is Pending Before High Court’, Reveals His Lawyer
Last year Bollywood actor Armaan Kohli was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for alleged possession of drugs. Reportedly, NCB recovered 1.2 grams of cocaine from his house in Mumbai. Armaan, who is currently in jail, has been waiting to procure his bail. In a recent interview, his lawyer Tareq Sayed revealed that Kohli’s bail is pending in the High court as the judge is out of town.

Speaking with ETimes, Tareq said, “The bail order is pending before the High Court as the judge is in Nagpur.” The report added that Armaan has been “languishing” in Arthur Road jail since he was arrested.  For the unversed, in August 2021, the Jaani Dushman actor was nabbed by NCB after they seized drugs from him. Earlier, Armaan Kohli filed an application for bail wherein he cited that his parents are old and have no one to look after them. But he did not procure bail. Armaan is the son of veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli, who is 91 years old. His mother is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. To note, Armaan’s bail has been rejected many times. This year in April, his plea was rejected by the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances).  A source revealed to the portal that the main reason behind Armaan not getting the bail is that there is strong evidence of financing and trafficking of drugs.

“One of the main reasons why Armaan has not been granted bail is that there is strong evidence of financing and trafficking of drugs. The officials have also found a foreign connection in drug supply with respect to his case,” the insider was quoted saying.

Armaan Kohli made his acting debut in his father's 1992 film Virodhi. After a five-year hiatus, he returned with ‘Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani’ but like his other films, it also failed to do well. He also participated in the popular reality show Bigg Boss 7. Kohli made another comeback after 12 years with a negative role in Salman Khan starrer ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' which was released in 2015.
