Arjun Kapoor Gets Emotional On Mother Mona Shourie Kapoor’s Birthday, Shares His Childhood Poem For Her; Says, ‘Love Feels Rather Empty Without Ur Smile’
Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor has always been a self-proclaimed mumma’s boy. He has never shied away from talking about his mother Mona Shourie Kapoor’s influence in his life and the struggles he went through after her passing. He might have been targeted by the netizens for being a product of nepotism and his minimal acting skills, but fans have always showered him with support when he opens up about his mom.

On the occasion of her birth anniversary, Arjun took to his official social media handle to share an emotional post. He posted a snippet of his hand-written poem from October 6th, 1997, that also features his baby pictures with his mother. In the letter, he explains how his mother is more precious than gold, softer than the petals of flowers, more enthusiastic than teenagers and more lovable than himself.

Encouraging her to never get upset and always keep on smiling, he says, “Oh mother! never get upset, because your tears are like fresh droplets of water and your smile is like Rs 1,00,00,000, and much more.”

He signed the letter as ‘Your son Arjun Kapoor’. Sharing it on Instagram, the Ishaqzaade actor expressed his grief in the caption. He wrote, “I’m running out of pictures now Maa. I’ve run out of words also so just putting up something again that sums the child inside me up. Maybe I’ve run out of energy & strength also but today is your birthday and it’s the best day of the year for me, that’s why I promise you I will never give up I promise you I will find new energy & strength & I promise u I will make u proud wherever u are… love u feels rather empty without ur smile ya… Happy Birthday to my everything.”

For the unversed, Mona Shourie Kapoor was an Indian television producer and Boney Kapoor’s first wife. They got hitched in 1983 and separated in 1996. They had two kids Arjun and Anshula Kapoor. She passed away in Mumbai in 2012 after her long battle with cancer.

On the work front, last seen in Asmaan Bharadwaj’s debut film Kuttey alongside Tabu and Radhika Madan, Arjun will be next seen in The Ladykiller alongside Bhumi Pednekar.
