After a sabbatical of four years, Anushka Sharma is all set to return to the screens with Chakda Xpress. The film is based on the life and struggles of Indian women’s team captain Jhulan Goswami. Anushka recently posted a picture on Instagram where she is seen prepping up for her role. Going by the photo, in order to get into the skin of the character, the ‘Sanju’ actress is working hard.
In a series of photos shared by the actress, Anushka is seen doing intense training. She is sporting a black tee and red sunny shades giving all the feels of a true sportswoman. Anushka captioned the post, "Grip by Grip Prep #ChakdaXpress."
Reacting to the post, Jhulan Goswami commented on it saying, "Very nice" along with thumbs up and clapping emoji. Fans also dropped hearts and fiery emojis on her post.
Earlier, Anushka posted a teaser of ‘Chakda Xpress’ on her Instagram. She captioned it, ""It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women’s cricket."
Directed by Prosit Roy, Chakda Xpress will trace the journey of India’s most renowned cricketer Jhulan Goswami who holds the world record of the highest number of wickets in an international career. Inspirational to many, Jhulan had a career spanning two decades and even held a postage stamp issued in her honor.
