Bollywood’s power couple, actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli informed last week that they will be extending support to the needy amidst the COVID-19 crisis in the country. As India continues to fight against the virus, Virat and Anushka started a fundraiser on social media, to help raise funds for COVID-19 relief work. Throughout last week, the couple constantly made posts amplifying and urging people to contribute. They also shared updates about the fundraiser. On Tuesday, Anushka and Virat drop posts as they successfully manage to raise a mammoth amount in funds.

Taking to her Instagram stories, on Tuesday, the couple made posts thanking everyone as they successfully raise Rs 5 Crore for COVID-19 relief work. Anushka shared a picture of the fundraiser collection. She shared the picture, and wrote in the caption, “A big Thank You to all the people who helped us reached this milestone.” She added, “Grateful to each one of you.” Apart from this, Anushka Sharma made another post, and wrote, “We appreciate your anticipation.” She added, “Thank you for your support.”

On Sunday, the actress had posted a heartfelt note for all the healthcare and frontline workers. She and Virat thanked them for their dedication in these tough times. Anushka said, “We'd like to say a big thank you to all our healthcare and frontline workers, their dedication is truly inspiring." She further added, "You continue to risk your lives for the nation, and for that, we are eternally grateful to you. Meanwhile, work-wise, Anushka was last seen in the 2018 film Zero also featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. She is yet to announce her next Bollywood project but has produced some content under her production banner. The actress welcomed a baby girl, Vamika with husband Virat Kohli, this year.
