Anu Aggarwal Reveals Why She Never Went Under The Knife After Her Accident: People Told Me To Get Surgery If I Want To Continue Working
Anu Aggarwal recalls Rekha complimenting her beauty during a tour and why she never underwent surgery after her accident
Renowned actress Anu Aggarwal rose to fame after her movie Aashiqui became super-hit. She was one of the most sought-after actresses of her time. However, in 1999 the diva got into a horrible accident which left her scared and injured. During one of her previous interviews she had revealed how she fell into a coma for 29 days. In a recent interview, she opened up about why she never went under the knife as her face was badly injured.
Talking to Indian Express, she recalled how after the accident everyone told her to get a surgery if she wants to continue working. She was certain that she didn’t want to go under the knife even after her face was paralyzed. Anu said, “I’d never go under the knife. Even after my accident, people told me that I’d need to go under a knife if I want to continue working. But if you accept yourself for what you are, you don’t need surgery. “The entire thing of going under the knife is a trend, don’t you see that? Actors are told ‘yeh karna hi padega…‘ people told me to do it after my accident. I had facial paralysis, I plainly said I’m not going to do it,” she continued.
The 54-year-old actress went on to recall a time when Rekha had complimented her during an international tour. She revealed how being a senior and never having met her, the veteran actress heaped praises on her beauty. She continued, “Her assistant came and told me ‘Rekha ji wants to see you’. I’ll never forget this, it was a room with mirrors and she was sitting and getting her make-up done. The actress went on to share how she would like to make her comeback on the big-screen. While she is being approached, the scripts aren’t that exciting. Talking about Aashiqui, being one of the successful franchise she revealed she would love to be a part of the third instalment starring Kartik Aaryan. She said, “Now Aashiqui 3 is coming, but I’m the original Aashiqui (laughs). Aashiqui is like my baby. If there is something really interesting for me to do, I’d really like to be a part of Aashiqui 3 in some way.”
For the unversed, the actress-model suffered major injuries and her face was severely damaged after a serious road accident. Eventually, she quit acting to follow her spiritual calling, and today she is a motivational speaker. She runs the Anu Aggarwal Foundation (AAF) and has received the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Award.
