We all remember Shekhar Kapur helmed Mr. India starring Anil Kapoor and late actress Sridevi, the movie was appreciated and loved by audiences across all the ages. Besides them the movie also had an iconic character named Mogambo, a vicious villain played by late actor Amrish Puri. On the actor’s birth anniversary, as per reports in Etimes, Amrish was not the first choice for this iconic role that he played flawlessly. Yes. You read it right. It was not Amrish Puri but Anupam Kher who was considered for this role.

As reported in ETimes, Anupam Kher revealed that he was offered this role when the makers were casting for the movie. However, later, he was replaced with Amrish Puri. The 'A Wednesday' actor revealed being upset with it, he shared later he was speechless with Amrish Puri’s performance as Mogambo. Mr. India released in 1987; back then Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, producer Boney Kapoor, and director Shekhar Kapur received awards in the best actor, actress, story, and direction category.

While there were reports of Ali Abbas Zafar coming up with a sequel of this much-celebrated film, it was reported in Mumbai Mirror that the director's this venture having no connection with the 1987 flick, it is just the title Mr. India they have chosen. In addition to this he gave out the deets of his movie’s storyline that dwells upon a common man combating a powerful villain in the coolest way. The movie is said to be loaded with VFX to make it relevant to the current scenario. 


Ali Abbas Zafar is working on the superhero universe, while he kick start the same with Katrina Kaif starrer movie, it will be followed by Mr. India and then a third flick revolving around superhero theme based on Indian mythology. His fourth film will have the background of the Indian army.
