Amitabh Bachchan reportedly sells his Delhi family home Sopaan for Rs 23 crore
Bollywood’s Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan is the most bankable actor in the industry and he also owns many luxurious properties. Amongst them is his family home, in Gulmohar Park, South Delhi where his parents, father Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mother Teji Bachchan used to live. As per the latest report, Big B has sold his family home ‘Sopaan' for a whopping Rs. 23 crore. Reportedly, the bungalow, which is spread across 418.05 square-meter, has been purchased by Avni Bader, CEO of Nezone group of companies.
According to a report in Economic Times, Avni Bader has known the Bachchans since decades and lives close to the actor’s property. Talking about purchasing Amitabh’s house, Avni told the portal, “It’s an old construction, so we will demolish the structure and construct as per our requirements. We have been living in the area for many years and were looking for additional property. When this offer came, we immediately said yes and acquired the asset.”
The actor’s family house Sopaan is a double-story residence and is said to be the Bachchan family's first home. It is said that the superstar was extremely attached to this home, which was reportedly registered under the name of his mother, Teji Bachchan.
Harivansh Rai Bachchan reportedly stayed in this said house till 1980. Pradeep Prajapati, who deals in real estate, revealed that Amitabh Bachchan used to live in his family home, Sopaan, before he started living in Mumbai. "Teji Bachchan, who was a freelance journalist, became a member of the Gulmohar Park Housing Society. Amitabh lived here before moving to Mumbai, and later his parents also moved. No one has lived in the house for years. The transaction is in line with the market rates," Prajapati was quoted saying.
Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan owns five expensive bungalows in Juhu, Mumbai, namely - Janak, Jalsa, Prateeksha, Vatsa, and Ammu. The actor purchased a plush new duplex- spread over 5184 square feet, for 31 crore in Andheri last year.
