Amitabh Bachchan’s Knotted Shirt In Film Deewar Was A Tailoring Error; Superstar Reveals In Latest Post
Amitabh Bachchan revealed an interesting detail about his knotted shirt in the film Deewar. The actor shared how just before the camera was about to roll, the director made the last-minute changes
We all remember Amitabh Bachchan’s movie Deewar introducing a new fashion trend in the 1970s. Seen in knotted shirt in the movie, the megastar revealed in his Instagram post an unknown anecdote about his look in the movie. Dropping a picture of him walking as he looked down, he revealed this being the first day of shoot for Deewar and just before the camera was about to roll, makers realized the length of the shirt was too long and came up with a last-minute solution.
The original shirt went up to the knees of the actor and as the director could not wait for a replacement of the shirt as well as the actor, a knot was tied by getting together both the end of the shirt. And that’s how this knotted shirt style came into trend. This dark blue shirt was paired with faded light blue pants, while adding a cool factor to this look was shirt kept unbuttoned when the scenes were filmed.
Big B shared this anecdote about the movie, wrote in his caption, “Yes, you read that right! Sharing a still from the movie, Big B wrote, ‘… those were the days my friend .. and the knotted shirt .. it has a story .. first day of shoot .. shot ready .. camera about to roll .. and the discovery that the shirt has been made too long - beyond the knees .. director could not wait for another shirt or a replaced actor .. so tied it up in a knot and …’” Check out the post here:
