Amitabh Bachchan Pledges To Support 1 Lakh Daily Wage Workers By Providing Them With Monthly Ration
Amitabh Bachchan becomes the latest celeb to pledge his support for the daily wage workers who have been worst-hit due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The Brahmastra actor will be providing the monthly ration of 1,00,000 households across the country
The novel Coronavirus has caused a disaster in the world. With being highly contagious in nature, the virus has a big hand in destroying many lives which includes the positive tested people as well as the daily wage workers. Amidst all the worse things, we see quite a few Bollywood celebs coming forward and extending their support for the people who are need of help. Right from Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Rajkummar Rao to Ayushmann Khurrana and Kangana Ranaut, they all are doing their bits. Just recently, Shah Rukh Khan also made a very generous contribution to COVID-19 people which also got a warm thank you from the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Now, Amitabh Bachchan becomes the latest celeb to pledge his support for the daily wage workers who are been affected due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The Brahmastra actor has supported the workers and by generously offered monthly ration to 1 lac daily wage workers across the country. A statement on the same was released by Sony Pictures Networks. This initiative is also backed by Kalyan Jewellers and Sony Pictures Networks.
"Given the unprecedented nature of the situation we are in, an initiative undertaken by Mr Bachchan, WE ARE ONE' has been supported by Sony Pictures Networks India and Kalyan Jewellers, through which the monthly ration of 1,00,000 households across the country will be funded," a statement released by Sony Pictures Networks on Sunday read.
"Through a commercial tie-up with a leading chain of hypermarkets and grocery stores in India, digitally barcoded coupons have been distributed to a verified list of workers from the All India Film Employees Confederation. Furthermore, monetary help has also been extended to those in need," further added. Earlier, Ajay Devgn has also made a huge contribution to the media federation due to the Coronavirus outbreak. To help their daily wage workers to cope up with the loss and to support those in need at this hour, Ajay Devgn has made a donation of 51 lakhs towards Federation of Western India Cinema Employees.
