Alia Bhatt is the daughter of renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his second wife, Soni Razdan, who choose an acting career unlike her father. In a discussion with Elle US Magazine, Alia shared insights into her father, Mahesh Bhatt's challenges, highlighting that while he's known for success, he has also faced failures. She revealed that there was a time when her father was financially strapped and dealing with alcohol addiction, and he had a series of unsuccessful films during his tough phase in his career. The Raazi actress further shared how her father had a bunch of flops at one point and barely had any money. The Bollywood diva also revealed how the filmmaker battled with an addiction to alcohol. During the same interview, she also emphasized that her father's life had its share of highs and lows. She expressed her understanding of her parents' hardships and her gratitude for the opportunities she has been given in life. Alia also noted that she could never have any complaints about her life. Actress showed gratitude and says how her upbringing is the reason of her success. She shared, "My parents struggled to get to a point where I could enjoy their privilege. I do recognize that."
