Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi’s case has taken a new turn as Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered early disposal of the case. After Meesha’s plea for cross-examination of Ali's witnesses was rejected by Lahore High Court (LHC), the Supreme Court has granted permission.
Meesha went to the Top Court and accepting her request, the SC granted permission to record joint statements and perform the joint cross-examination of 9 witnesses of Ali Zafar. A 2-member bench of the top court ordered Ali’s counsel to submit affidavits from witnesses within a week and also gave 1 week to Meesha’s lawyer to prepare for the cross-examination of witnesses.

Further, the court has asked both parties to complete the cross-examination within a single day and not take any more time than that. For those who've come in late, the Ali Zafar-Meesha controversy began during the Lux Style Awards in 2018 when Shafi accused Zafar of molesting her physically on ‘more than one occasion’. The actor denied the allegations through an open letter. Next, the actor-singer filed a defamation suit of Rs 100 Million asking the actress to publicly apologise.
When the Lahore court had dismissed the sexual harassment charges made by Meesha, Ali had written on social media, “Meesha Shafi’s case against me has been dismissed alongside the appeal made against the dismissal, the case in the court (now) is my (read: me) against her to pay for the damages that her false statement has (read: have) caused me, which naturally she is trying to run away from.” The actor and his wife Ayesha even got together to wage a war against the lady, but now, with these new developments in the case, let’s see what emerges in the end.
