Akshay Kumar Trolled During Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019; Netizens Tease Him By Asking Him To Vote And Post A Selfie
Akshay Kumar’s honorary Canadian citizenship doesn’t allow him to cast vote in India and this gave netizens a reason to troll the actor amid the ongoing Maharashtra Assembly Elections of 2019
October 21, 2019, marked a big day for all the Mumbaikars as they stepped out to vote amid the ongoing Maharashtra Assembly Elections of 2019. Several celebrities like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor among many others have set an example of exercising their right and casting their votes. However, the absence of one celebrity at the polling booth has raised a lot of eyebrows. We are talking about Akshay Kumar, who doesn’t hold an Indian passport since he is an honorary citizen of Canada.
Well, this gave the netizens a reason to troll the actor, as, except for him, almost all the Bollywood celebrities stepped out to cast their votes. In fact, a lot of users on Twitter tagged Akshay Kumar and urged him to vote as one dutiful Indian citizen. “Dear @akshaykumar, As of every Indian who loves his country you should too go and vote. #MaharashtraAssemblyPolls,” wrote a user, while another user trolled the actor by tweeting, “@akshaykumar Sir post your selfie after casting your Vote. It will encourage others to perform their Duty. #VoteKarMaharashtra.” LOL!

Well, this isn’t the first time that Akki is at the receiving end of trolls. Not very long ago, during the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the Kesari actor had hit the news for his Canadian citizenship that didn’t allow him to vote, despite interviewing PM Narendra Modi. Adding fuel to the fire was Akshay Kumar’s response to a journalist asking about his voting status. In a video that had gone viral, Kumar could be heard saying 'Chaliye Beta' to a reporter, as he dodged the question.
