Bollywood celebs like Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Bhumi Pednekar, Rajkummar Rao, Sonu Sood, Arjun Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu have planned to deliver a special message ahead of World’s Environment Day that is celebrated on June 5. The celebs have joined forces to deliver an important message regarding the environment on World’s Environment Day by featuring in UN's special music video, titled Dharti Ka Dil. The initiative is supported by the United Nations and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Environmentalist. Green crusader Asif Bhamla told Mid-Day that the video will have the song and the bytes of celebrities.
Bhamla said, “Since their theme is ecosystem restoration this year, the music video focuses on how we need to rejuvenate the planet, the way our forefathers did for us.” The song is said to release before June 5. According to the report, the track is composed by Shaan while Swanand Kirkire has penned the lyrics. Singers like B Praak, Adnan Sami, Shankar Mahadevan, Palak Muchhal and more have lent their voices. Explaining why he roped the Bollywood celebs for this music video, Bhamla cites, “Bollywood celebrities are role models. Arjun, Taapsee, Bhumi, Rajkummar, Shilpa and Sonu Sood are part of the song bytes. We also have leaders from other walks of life, including Sachin Tendulkar, Manish Malhotra, and Faye D’Souza, as well as senior heads of the United Nation Environment Programme [UNEP].”
He also expressed his gratitude towards them for featuring in the song and conveying the message about the environment. As per him, UNEP chose to share the teaser of the song on May 31 which is tomorrow.
