Akshay Kumar Returns As An Ambassador Of A Tobacco Brand? Actor LASHES Out At A Media Publication For Spreading FAKE News
Akshay Kumar took to social media to slam a media publication for spreading fake news surrounding the new advertisement of a tobacco brand
Over the years, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has impressed the audiences with his versatile performances. Having made a mark in the industry for following a healthy lifestyle, he left his fans surprised when he appeared in a new television advertisement of Vimal Zubaan Kesari on Sunday. He featured in the ad alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. His appearance in the ad was criticised especially since his withdrawal from endorsing the tobacco brand.
Following the release of the new advertisement, Bollywood Hungama wrote a story speculating his return to endorse a brand. Irked by the media publication’s story, the actor slammed them for spreading fake news and also issued a clarification for the same. Taking to his official X handle, he wrote, “‘Returns’ as ambassador? Here’s some fact check for you Bollywood Hungama, if by chance you are interested in things other than fake news. These ads were shot on 13th October, 2021. I have not had anything to do with the brand ever since I publicly announced the discontinuation of the endorsement.”

The 56-year-old actor also went on to explain that the company is legally allowed to run the advertisements until the end next year. He further added, “Chill and do some real news.” Fans and netizens were quick to take to the comment section of the post to share their views on the matter. While many supported and lauded the actor for calling out the entertainment portal, others schooled him to return the money to the brand so that they stop running the ads.
Take a look at the tweets:
But as a responsible person you could have returned every penny you took and asked the brand to not run your ads. Even if it was not legally possible you should have donated every penny to some cancer hospital and started a campaign to reduce addiction in youth.
