Akshay Kumar On Actresses’ Shelf Life: Unfortunately, They Are Treated Like Time Bombs
Akshay Kumar has got something to say about the shelf-life of women in the film industry...
As unfair as it may sound, the
shelf life of an actress is lesser than that of an actor in Bollywood. Recently, Akshay Kumar expressed his opinion on the same and said that women in the
film industry are treated like time bombs and that’s not cool.
In an interview with a leading daily, Khiladi Kumar said,
“Unfortunately, actresses are treated like time bombs, which I feel is
completely unfair. I’m beyond proud of all [those] who have not let the 10-year
shelf life have any significance for their careers and have stormed past [that
deadline] with pride.”
Akshay also spoke about hardcore competition in Bollywood, where young actors are way too health conscious. He said, “I’m proud of how I’ve carried myself, how disciplined I
am about my workouts and, most importantly, my health. But these young [actors]
are the ones giving us old men a run for our money, not the other way round.
When I entered the industry, no one knew what a six-pack was — now everyone has
it.”
Akshay was recently in news for his 'below the belt' comment on Mallika Dua, which became a huge debate in the industry.
