Akshay Kumar Gets Candid About Failure Of Bollywood Films; Plans To Reduce His Fee By 30-40% To Cut Down Budget For Successful Movies-READ BELOW!
Akshay Kumar has finally opened up about the possible problems with the films skinking at the box-office
Bollywood currently appears to have become completely stagnant with its creations and turns out a new slew of flops is heading towards the audiences. While many actors and their films have failed to impress the audience, Akshay Kumar is one such celebrity who has faced disappointments too and some even suggest that his salary be cut down!
In a rather unforeseen turn of events, Akshay Kumar has witnessed several box-office duds over the past some years now. As per the reports, Ram Setu, Cuttputli, Bachchhan Paandey and Raksha Bandhan were all flops at the box office.
To top it off, several have cited completing films within 30 days as the ultimate reason behind the films turning out to be flops.
However, the actor has finally opened up about the possible problems with the film tumbling at the box office. Speaking about it all during the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Akshay Kumar said, “What is happening, as per me, is that things have changed. The audience wants something different. This is what we should think that we should sit down and try to give them that. It is our fault not the audience's fault that they are not coming. We have to give them what they want. That is what we have to rethink.”
He also encouraged the actors, directors and writers pointing out that they might have to dismantle the entire work system and rethink ideas. Being an influential figure in the industry, Akki said that he wants to start completely differently and claims that he has even started doing the same.
“We have to dismantle what we have made and start all over again. Think about what kind of cinema they would want to see. I want to start completely differently. And that is what I have started doing also. What has happened during the pandemic is that their choices have changed rapidly,” Akshay Kumar said.
Akshay Kumar continued, “There are so many other things that need to be done and not just by the actors but the producers and theatres as well. I’ll tell you I want to bring down my prices by 30-40%.
Meanwhile, he also took a sly dig at theatres and the hefty prices of their products. He said, “Theatres need to understand that it’s recession time also. The audience has a limited amount of money to spend on entertainment. You cannot be spending so much on it. Everything has to change. And it’s not just the theatres.”
While wrapping up, he seemingly considered himself as a part of the problem and shared, “We have to work on the cost of me, the cost of making the film. Everything needs to be addressed.”
