Akshay Kumar Birthday: Bobby Deol & Friends Bring In Superstar’s 51ST With An Intimate Dinner

Akshay Kumar turns 51 today. The superstar has taken a couple of days off from the shoot of his next film Housefull 4 in Ranthambore, and is back in Mumbai for the celebrations. Last night, Kumar brought in his 51st with wife Twinkle Khanna, Bobby Deol and a few other close friends.

Speaking to a leading daily about the celebrations, Akshay had said, "Well, my son is studying in London, so I’m going to miss him... I’ve flown down to Mumbai for two days (from film sets at Ranthambhore) for my wife’s (Twinkle Khanna’s) book launch, plus I’ll get to spend my birthday with my wife, daughter, my mother-in-law and my mother. We are just going to sit and maybe have a drink (smiles)." The gathering happened at Yauatcha, BKC, Mumbai. Here are the pics of the birthday dinner party:

Bobby is also shooting with Akshay for Housefull 4. The two have been great buddies since the start of their careers and have worked together on films like Ajnabee (2001), Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo (2004), Dosti (2005) and Thank You (2011).

Meanwhile, Akshay’s brainchild, Bharat Ke Veer (a website), has now been declared tax-free by the government. "Bharat Ke Veer going tax-free is my biggest birthday gift. Thanks to the government, the Home Ministry, Finance Ministry, for doing this in such a quick way. The app is doing so well with civilians contributing for the families of martyrs (soldiers)," said Akshay.

"Because it’s tax-free, obviously more people will come forward. My dream is now to even get people and families whose son or father or brother have lost their limbs, on Bharat Ke Veer... Woh bhi haqdaar hain (They, too, are deserving). You can expand only when the money flow is more from the civilians’ side," added Akshay talking about the noble cause.
