Ajay Devgn On Directing Amitabh Bachchan In Mayday, 'He Was A Delight, I Have Never Seen A More Dedicated Actor'
Ajay Devgn shares his experience of directing Amitabh Bachchan for the first time in the upcoming thriller, Mayday. The film will be produced by Ajay and the shoot is nearly completed.
Last year in November it was announced that Mr Bachchan and Ajay Devgn have collaborated for a new film titled Mayday. It is reported that Mayday will turn out to be a thriller. Ajay Devgn, who has shared screen space with Big B, in films like Aag, Satyagraha, Khakee, Teen Patti and Major Saab, will direct the megastar for the very first time. During a recent interaction, Ajay calls directing Mr. Bachchan a 'delight'. Along with directing the 52-year-old actor will share screen space with Shahenshah of Bollywood. Ajay said, 'He is a delight. I have never seen a more dedicated actor. We are nothing in front of him. Once he is on the set, he is ready on his mark. If you tell him to rest in his van when we are lighting up, he will say no, I am sitting here and I’ll keep rehearsing.
He adds, "I have known him since I was a kid so I share a different rapport. I could tell him whatever I want since my childhood. So I can tell him sir, thoda kum karo or yaha pe thoda improve karna padega."
Ask Ajay if it was easy to convince Bachchan to come on board to which he quips, "Yes just two minutes, he only had one narration and was on board."
The shoot for Mayday which started last year and is nearly completed and only five days of shoot is left, informs the actor. In the film Mayday, Ajay will be seen as a pilot, and Bachchan in an important role. Produced and directed by Ajay Devgn, this will be the actor's third directorial after U Me Aur Hum and Shivaay.
