Actor Payal Ghosh hit the headlines a few weeks ago after she accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment, and made some serious allegations against him. Now, according to a report in ANI, Payal Ghosh has joined Union Minister Ramdas Athawale-led Republican Party of India in Mumbai on Monday. She has been named as the vice president of the women’s wing of the RPI (A).

Ramdas Athawale welcomed her as she joined the party in his presence, and he thanked her for joining the party. Pictures of the same have been shared by ANI on social media which show Payal holding the flag of RPI (A). She can be seen with a mask on her face. “I thank her for joining the party and I welcome her,” said party chief and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale.

A few weeks ago, Payal Ghosh had accused Anurag Kashyap of forcing himself on her and on September 23, she filed a complaint at suburban Versova Police station accusing Kashyap of sexual harassment in 2013. Anurag Kashyap was then summoned by the Mumbai Police and on October 1, he was questioned by the police. As per reports, he denied the allegations leveled against him and produced documents to show that he was in Sri Lanka at the time the alleged incident was said to have taken place.
