After Accusing Anurag Kashyap Of Sexual Misconduct, Payal Ghosh Hits Back At People Alleging She Is Misusing #MeToo; Says 'It's Time To Stand With The Women'

Actress Payal Ghosh recently took to her social media account to share her #MeToo story. She shocked one and all as she accused Gangs of Wasseypur director Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. Later, many stars like Taapsee Pannu, Kalki Koechlin, Radhika Apte and others came out in support of the filmmaker and shared that the #MeToo movement is being misused. Now, Payal has slammed all those saying that she is misusing the power and stated that it is time to stand with the women.

In her tweet, Payal wrote, "People who are saying that it's for politics and that I am misusing the situation. Imagine ( god forbid) your sister or daughter in my position, it can even be the mother.. and then let's talk. You would go to war against such men. Isn't it ?  PERIOD!!" Her another tweet read, "People blame women for everything and post smash the patriarchy. It's time to stand with the women. Let them be heard. A voice suppressed is a generation of women oppressed. It's 2020. Come on, India! #MeToo."

It is being reported that Payal is planning to lodge an FIR against Anurag Kashyap. Her lawyer in an interview with Beyond Bollywood stated that a victim's testimony is sufficient in a sexual assault case. Describing the scene, the lawyer reportedly stated that on the pretext of giving her work the filmmaker called her home. "On the first day, Ghosh had gone in with her manager. Kashyap had called her alone again next day. He took her to a room, where he removed his clothes and tried to force himself upon her," the lawyer said.
